Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is filling his certificate of candidacy for a third term as governor of Negros Occidental 3 p.m. on October 3.
Board Member Jose Benito Alonso who is running for vice governor will also be joining him, Lacson said on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Lacson said he also invited candidates for congressman and board member running under the Love Negros-United Negros Alliance ticket to join them in filing their COCs on Oct. 3.
The filing of COCs will be from October 1 to 8, including Saturday and Sunday.
The Commission on Elections will be accepting COCs for provincial government posts at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
Former Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick “Wantan” Palanca has yet to confirm if he is also running for governor under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) ticket.
“That’s his call anybody can always run for any government position,” Lacson said, adding that it will not affect his plans to run for another term.
“We cannot choose our opponents but we will be putting on the table what we have done for six years for the people to decide,” he said.
“We will be judged on how we performed for the past six years,” Lacson said.*
