A laborer was hacked to death by two persons in Sitio Mantabanon, Brgy. Camangcamang, Isabela, Negros Occidental, on Sunday night, Dec. 3.
Jomarie Bolhano, who was attacked in his house, sustained multiple hack wounds, the police said.
Isabela Police Chief, Capt. Ar-Jay Dangarang, said that the victim was not the target of the suspects.
The suspects went to the victim’s house when they learned that someone with whom they had a grudge with slept there, the police said.
However, when the suspects arrived the person they were looking for was not there and they had a heated argument with Bolhano.
When the suspects returned to Bolhano’s house they were armed with bladed weapons, which they used to hack him, Dangarang said.
The victim was brought to Ignacio L. Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival, while the suspects fled.
One of the suspects, Roy Pedro, 46, was later arrested and one who is unidentified remains at large.
Dangarang said the police are searching for the second suspect.
Murder cases will be filed against the suspects, he added.*
