A 46-year-old man was stabbed to death during a drinking session on his birthday in La Castellana, Negros Occidental, on Thursday evening, March 26.
Police said the victim, a laborer, sustained a stab wound on the lower left side of his chest.
He was rushed to a clinic in La Castellana but was declared dead by the attending physician.
Investigation showed the victim was celebrating his birthday when a heated argument broke out involving his relatives.
Authorities said the victim later confronted another relative before being approached by the suspect, identified as alias “Vince.”
A fight ensued, which led to the stabbing.
Police recovered a blood-stained bladed weapon believed to have been used in the incident.
The suspect fled after the incident and remains at large.
Pursuit operations are ongoing, the police said.*
