L.E.S.S. is more for Hinoba-an

Hinoba-an Mayor Daph Anthony Reliquias*

Mayor Daph Anthony Reliquias, the youngest mayor of Hinoba-an town in Negros Occidental, has issued executive orders creating  three new offices that will address the basic needs of his constituents.

Reliquias ordered the establishment of Livelihood and Cooperative, Emergency Assistance, and Social Services Offices (LESS).

For the first time in Hinoba-an and given the geographical location of the town, the one call/text/dm hotline was put in place as the cornerstone of DIAL D.A.P.H. Central Command as spelled out in Executive Order No. 1, a press release from the town said.

Any concerns that focus on emergency, fire, police and medical support can be sent through the hotline so that the Central Command can relay and coordinate with proper offices, Reliquias said.

Executive Order No. 2 creates the Hinoba-an Social Services (SoSe) Unit. It is an office directly under the Office of the Mayor that aims to address scholarships, financial assistance, medical and hospitalization and other social services needs of Hinoban-ons, he said.

It is also a one-stop shop for all social services.

Executive Order No. 3 created the Municipal Cooperative and Livelihood Development Unit (CLDU) that aims to empower and organize those at the grassroots.

The main goal of CLDU is to be the catalyst of self-empowerment of Hinoban-ons by developing cooperatives and methodically drafting and dispensing livelihood programs that can greatly impact on the lives of people, Reliquias said.

Reliquias said he is addressing the concerns of those who have less in life.

“I am a nurse by profession and a public servant by commitment, thus, I am trained to save lives as a nurse and deliver the best ever service directly to the people as a public servant”,  Reliquias  said.*
