The deadline for registration to the 1st Kwizko ni Cong. Kiko has been extended to Thursday, September 30, Project Director Carmela Arcolas-Gamboa said Sunday, September 26.
She reminded prospective participants to submit requirements through the online link at the official Facebook page of Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Benitez.
Registration started September 15, and was supposed to end Friday, September 24, but due to constraints of power supply and online connectivity, the deadline has been extended until September 30, a press release said.
Participants must submit completed registration forms found in the Google link per local government as posted on Benitez official Facebook page. Also required are an endorsement letter signed by school head, certificate of enrolment with LRN (Learner Reference Number) signed by school head, and two recent 2 x 2 ID photos with white background, the press release said.
The Kwizko ni Cong. Kiko quiz bee challenge is open to Grade 10 high school students who are residents of the Third District and who are enrolled in secondary schools located also in the Third District, which included the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay , and the municipalities of E.B. All registered contestants will qualify in the first level of the competition – elimination rounds in October 2 for Victorias, EB Magalona and Silay and October 3 in Talisay and Murcia – in venues that will be announced later.
Final round is set on October 23 at the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas in Talisay City.
It is a project of Benitez in partnership with the Department of Education Negros Occidental Schools Division and the Silay City Schools Division, the Local Government Units, and the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, and TUP-V.

To ensure compliance with health protocols, the project will use blended mode and coordinate closely with the respective Inter-agency Task Force for Covid-19 in the District, the press release said.
