
The Office of the Civil Defense is reminding local governments to ensure that there is no human activity within the 4-kilometer permanent danger zone (PDZ) of Kanlaon Volcano.
OCD Negros Island Regional Director Donato Sermeno III on Tuesday, April 14, warned of increased ash emissions and earthquakes at Kanlaon Volcano.
The volcano had 102 volcanic earthquakes, including two volcanic tremors, from 12 a.m. Monday to 12 a.m. Tuesday, he pointed out.
Sermeno said he will remind personnel of local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to keep residents out of the danger zone.
