Officials remain on alert as Kanlaon Volcano continues to discharge ash plumes following a moderately explosive eruption on Saturday.
On Monday, three ash emissions were recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, though no ashfall was reported, Phivolcs science research analyst Daryll Arro said.
The first ash emission began at midnight and ended at 1 a.m., while the second occurred between 2:22 a.m. and 4:41 a.m., Arro said.
The third emission started at 5:54 a.m. and lasted until 7:24 a.m., generating a 300-meter-high grayish plume that drifted northwest.
On Sunday, Kanlaon logged 10 ash emission events lasting between 11 and 213 minutes, alongside 13 volcanic earthquakes.
Kanlaon remains under Alert Level 2, indicating increased unrest.*
