Jules making comeback, 3 new BM bets named

Former representative Julio “Jules” Ledesma IV is making a political comeback.

Ledesma is running for representative of the 1st District of Negros Occidental in 2025, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Incumbent Rep. Gerardo Valmayor Jr. is giving way to Ledesma, Lacson said.

“There was no position promised Valmayor but he will totally support the candidacy of Ledesma”, Lacson said.

Ledesma said he will stay for one term, the govenor added.

Lacson also said that Don Salvador Benedicto Mayor Marxlen dela Cruz of the United Negros Alliance (UNegA) will run for board member of the first district.

Dela Cruz will replace Board Member Rommel Debulgado of Love Negros who is running for councilor of San Carlos City.

First District Board Member Araceli T. Somosa is running for reelection.

Dela Cruz who is on his third and last term as mayor of Don Salvador Benedicto said his brother Vice Mayor Nehemiah Joe Dela Cruz will run for mayor of the town in 2025.

4TH DISTRICT
Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, UNegA president, also announced on Saturday that Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo and Paula Alonso Valderrama are running for board members of the 4th District.

Incumbent 4th District Board Member Andrew Torres is running for vice mayor of Bago City, while his father Vice Mayor Ramon Torres is running for mayor.

Valderrama will be running for board member in place of incumbent Jose Benito Alonso who is running for vice governor.*
