Javi leading staging of nat’l Mobile Legends tournament

Victorias Mayor Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez is spearheading a nationwide Mobile Legends tournament that is expected to kick off in May.

Benitez, League of Cities of the Philippines focal mayor for youth and sports development, said the tournament to be joined by participants from cities all over the country has been approved by the LMP board.

Mobile Legends is a popular mobile game that many Generation Z youngsters have been playing, he said.

“Not only is it fun, it entails strategic and swift decision making. Video games are not only for pleasure but for mental stimulus that is also important for the youth,” he said.

It will be a LCP nationwide online event supported by the Negros Association of Chief Executives, which Benitez heads.

There will be elimination rounds with the finals eyed to be held in Pasay City, Benitez said.*
