Housing orientation held for Bacolod informal settlers

The Task Force Pabahay, along with the Pag-IBIG marketing staff, conducted a series of housing and Pag-IBIG orientations for the informal settler families (ISFs) of barangays 7, 41, Banago, Sum-ag, Bata, and Villamonte in Bacolod City on the housing program of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.

The orientations were organized by the Pabahay Community Organizers and was spearheaded by Pabahay Program Coordinator Joel Vergara, the Bacolod City government announced Thursday, February 9.

Hundreds of ISFs signified their intention to avail the Bacolod Pabahay program which aims to provide 10,000 housing units.

The first batch of beneficiaries will be screened as recommended by the Pabahay team for Pag-IBIG availment and matching at four identified sites, the announcement said.

The information and education campaign staff of the Department of Public Services also held a solid waste management discussion during the housing orientations.

The orientation and educational drive will continue in the other barangays of the city, it added.*
