Mayor Raymund Tongson announced that the groundwork for the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, will start this week.

The developers of the P5.5 billion housing project in Himamaylan will arrive this week to begin the groundwork, Tongson said on Wednesday, January 24.

The mayor said the aim is to build 3,000 housing units for Himamaylanons who need proper housing.

The project will be built in the poblacion area of the city.

Tongson also said it is possible that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will officially groundbreak the project, to coincide with the launching of the housing projects in Bacolod City next month.

Tongson also said that they are also working for the construction of farm-to-market roads in the upland areas of Himamaylan.

Meanwhile, Tongson said that he hopes to run for a third term with Justin Gatuslao as his vice mayor in 2025.*
