Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson on Sunday, November 5, welcomed the appointment Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. as the new secretary of agriculture.
“As an agricultural province, we are fortunate to have someone who has the complete confidence of our President Bongbong Marcos,” he said.
Laurel takes to heart the interests of our farmers and fisher folk as he understands the current state of our agricultural sector and the importance of food security, Lacson said.
He said he hops Laurel focuses on smuggling in addition to what he has declared, which are modernization and increased production.*
