Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Wednesday, January 24, that he would prefer that the next Negros Occidental provincial police director is a non-Negrense.
Col. Leo Pamittan, the current police provincial director, whose tour of duty has ended is up for transfer soon.
There is really no rush, the Philippine National Police still has to prepare a position for Pamittan at the national headquarters, Lacson said.
He said two police officials have visited to express their interest in the provincial director post. However, he is still waiting for the PNP’s recommendation, Lacson said.
Lacson said he wants a police provincial director who is dedicated to the service, has the experience for the post, and who will treat all the police officials in Negros equally, without favoring anyone.
He also wants a police provincial director who does not get involved in politics and does not take sides during elections.*
