A government employee was shot dead by an unidentified suspect in Sitio Macarandan, Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Police identified the victim only as “Rogen,” 49, a maintenance worker at a rice mill operated by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Sipalay.
Investigators said the victim was on his way to his fishpond to feed his tilapia when he was attacked.
Police said his killers shot him using high-powered firearms.
Recovered from the crime scene were empty shells believed to have been fired from an M16 rifle and an AK-57.
Authorities are still working to determine the gunmen’s identity and the motive behind the killing.*
