A former Bacolod City councilor and kin of incumbent city officials are among the winning barangay captains in Monday’s elections.
Former Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito won as barangay captain of Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Distrito thanked the residents of his barangay for their support and said it’s time to buckle down to work.
Among his priorities will be addressing the flooding problem in his barangay, Distrito said.

Bacolod Councilor Jason Villarosa also confirmed that Franz Tionko, the daughter of Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya, was leading by a wide margin for barangay captain of Mansilingan and was headed for a win.
Tanya Familiaran, daughter-in-law of Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, is also the winning punong barangay of Barangay 13.
Villarosa said other barangay captain candidates who won or were headed for victory Monday night were:
