A former barangay captain was gunned down by two unidentified assailants in Sitio Tunga, Barangay Patun-an, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, Monday afternoon, October 6.
The police identified the victim only as “Alex”, a 63-year-old married man who was a resident of Barangay Patun-an.
The victim was onboard his Bajaj motorcycle on his way home when the suspects suddenly appeared and shot him, hitting the left side of his waist, the police said.
Rescuers from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) brought the victim to the Calatrava District Hospital where he was declared dead.*
