Heavy rains brought on by Tropical Storm “Quedan” and a low pressure area triggered flooding in Bacolod City and the evacuation of 375 residents on Thursday night, October 9, the city government reported on Friday.
Houses were also destroyed and damaged.
Brgy 1 had 4 evacuees, Brgy 9 had 21, Brgy 10 had 2, Banago – 53, Estefania – 15 families, Mandalagan – 45, Montevista – 6, Taculing – 4 and Villamonte – 240, the Bacolod City Communications Office (BCCO) reported.
Two houses were destroyed and 14 houses were damaged in Banago and two houses were destroyed in Villamonte, the BCCO added.
The evacuees decamped at 6 a.m. Friday.*
