A video of the caving in of part of the ceiling at the Annex Building of the Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, has gone viral on social media.
In the post of Gladdix Gomia Vlog one can see a rush of water coming through the ceiling and a few seconds later the ceiling collapses.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Girlie Pinongan said no patients or staff at the hospital were injured.
Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa said that the ceiling above the nurses’ station on the second floor of the annex building has been repaired.
The incident happened Wednesday evening, October 8, following heavy rain, he said.
The downspout of the gutter on the roof was covered with leaves causing water to overflow into the ceiling.
This caused the collapse of part of the ceiling, he said.*
