
Fire incidents in 2021 were lower than in 2020 as they dropped from 262 to 206, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Bacolod reported Thursday, February 24.
But the cost of damage was higher last year at P9.089 million from P7.015 million in 2020.
The number of casualties was also higher in 2021 with six from two in 2020, the BFP report also showed.
The highest number of fire incidents in 2021 was in December with 52 followed by October with 24, and March and September with 21 each, the BFP-Bacolod reported.
Most of the fire incidents were caused by electrical problems, the report added.*
