A farmer was stabbed to death at his house in Sitio Makinigkig, Brgy. Orong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Friday, Aug. 30.
Remy Pobreza, 54, was stabbed by fellow farmer Rino Bulawan, 43, the police reported.
Investigation revealed that both were drunk and were arguing through handheld radios, prompting the suspect to go to the victim’s house.
The victim fired his shotgun hitting the ground, while the suspect was approaching his residence, in an attempt to stop him, the police said.
However, the suspect was able to stab the victim on his chest, the police added.
The victim was brought to Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police with the weapon he used in the stabbing incident.*
