
A fisherman and a farmer were killed in separate shooting incidents in Sipalay City and Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10 and 11.
Alias “Remigio”, 69, a fisherman, died after an unidentified suspect shot him while there was a brownout in Brgy. 2, Sipalay City, Friday night, the police said.
The victim was inside his house waiting for the power to be restored when an unidentified suspect shot him several times causing his death.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and was brought to the Sipalay City Health Unit where he was declared dead, the police said.
Meanwhile, alias “Edwin”, 59, a farmer, was shot to death by alias “Feljohn”, 35, following a heated argument in Purok Paglaum, Brgy. Kumaliskis, Don Salvador Benedicto, Saturday.
Investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim had a heated argument that escalated into a fistfight.
The suspect ran and returned with a 12-gauge shotgun and shot the victim who sustained multiple pellet wounds on his body causing his death.
The police arrested the suspect in a pursuit operation and recovered the 12-gauge shotgun, and ammunition.*
