A sugarcane farm laborer was electrocuted at Hacienda Nasipunan, Barangay 12 in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28.
The fatality was a 28-year-old resident of Hacienda Maria, Barangay 10, Victorias City, whose name was withheld by the police.
The victim’s wife reported to the police that her husband was accidentally electrocuted while working at the sugarcane plantation of Rafael Luces.
Police investigation revealed that while the victim was transferring cut sugarcane to a truck he accidentally touched a Northern Negros Electric Cooperative wire.
He was rushed to the Victorias City Emergency Medical Clinic by his co-worker but he was declared dead by the attending physician.*
