A former councilor of Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, survived an attempt on his life at Brgy Abu- Abo, Murcia, Saturday afternoon, January 1.
The victim was identified as Eddie Ceralbo, 59, of Brgy. Pandanon, Salvador Benedicto. He sustained a gunshot wound on his neck.
Police said the victim, who was visiting a friend, was onboard his pickup truck when he was shot by two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects.
The victim was immediately brought to the Murcia Health Unit and was later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City.
Recovered from the scene were two empty shells of a 9mm pistol.
Police are still investigating the motive of the shooting.*
