Ex-convict nabbed with P1.7M shabu

Anti-illegal drug agents arrested an ex-convict and confiscated P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in Barangay Camanjac, Dumaguete City, on  Friday, August 30.

Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), said the suspect is a 57-year-old male from Purok 7, Barangay Boloc-boloc, in nearby Sibulan town.

The suspect yielded  250 grams of suspected shabu, the police said.

He was tagged as a high-value individual.

He had already served 12 years for a drug case and returned to Negros Oriental after his release in 2017.

Police records showed that he was arrested in Dumaguete  in 2005, spent six years at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology detention and rehabilitation facility in the city and completed his sentence at a prison facility in Mindoro.*PNA
