Environment volunteers in 3rd District get incentives

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of cash incentives to 64 peace and environment volunteers in the Third District of Negros Occidental in Silay City, Tuesday, October 19.

Talisay City, Silay City, Victorias City , EB Magalona, and Murcia comprise the Third District.

Through this community-based program, the local governments work together with the provincial government and the Philippine Army in promoting peace and environmental governance strategies, a press release from the Capitol said.

The volunteers commit to protect the forests of the province and promote environmental awareness and peace and order, it said.

Present at the affair were of Board Members Ryan Gamboa, Andrew Montelibano and Manuel Frederick Ko, Mayors Francis Frederick Palanca of Victorias, Gerry Rojas of Murcia, and Mark Golez of Silay City, and 303rd IB Commander, General Inocencio Pasaporte, among others.*
