DSWD aid to Alacre kin increases to P50,000

DSWD Protective Division Chief Katherine Joy Lamprea explains the DSWD aid to the Alacre family, during a media forum also attended by Regional Director Carmelo N. Nochete at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City on Wednesday.*

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) also provided P50,000 in assistance to the family of Negrense Loreta Alacre, who was killed by Hamas militants in Israel.

The DSWD added P10,000 in burial assistance to the P40,000 it initially gave prior to the arrival of cadaver in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, Katherine Joy Lamprea, DSWD 6 Protective Services Division head, said on Wednesday, October 25.

The Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration earlier also provided P50,000 each to the Alacre family, while Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez gave P500,000.

Negros Occidental Gov., Eugenio Jose Lacson, who plans on visiting Alacre’s wake on November 4, reiterated that after the funeral the provincial government will look into what else the family needs.*
