The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Caraga Region (DSWD-13) has dispatched relief assistance to residents affected by the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon in the Negros Islands.

In a statement, the DSWD-13 reported on Tuesday that 4,000 family food packs (FFPs) were shipped to Bacolod City on Monday, with another 3,592 FFPs expected to arrive on Dec. 25.

The total 7,592 FFPs were sourced from various strategic warehouses in the Caraga Region to address the immediate needs of displaced families.

“We assure our constituents in the Caraga Region that the sourced FFPs will be replenished to maintain our readiness to support those in need,” the DSWD-13 said.

The shipments were part of a coordinated effort to provide essential food supplies to families in evacuation centers following the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon on Dec. 9.*PNA
