Drought damage to crops in Neg. Occ. hits P90.6M

The drought damage to crops in 13 towns and cities in Negros Occidental has hit P90,661,264, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist reported Tuesday, March 26.

The damage to rice was P90,218,523 and to corn – P442,740 covering  2,015  hectares  in 109 barangays,  the report said. 

The affected  farmers are   2,348.  

Damage to rice crops in Kabankalan City has reached P41,910,361 followed by Cauayan with P14,001,540, Ilog – P7,487,370, Bago City – P7,174,621, Himamaylan City – P3,732,556, Valladolid – P3,442,846, Hinoba-an – P2,525,595; 

Hinigaran – P1,751,055, Sipalay City – P1,697,533, Binalbagan – P1,202,640, San Enrique – P1,182,568, Talisay City – P1,115,504, Pulupandan – P818,469, Don Salvador Benedicto – P701,525, Murcia – P688,638, Moises Padilla – P450,897 and Isabela – P334,800.

Damage to corn crops  in Sipalay City was P243,356  and  Murcia – P199,384.*
