A total of 77 applicants were hired on the spot at the Kalayaan Job Fair to mark the country’s 127th Independence Day at the Main Atrium of SM City Bacolod as of 5 p.m. Thursday, June 12.
There were also 2,309 job seekers who filed applications, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) data showed.
DOLE-6 Regional Director Sixto Rodriguez Jr. said there were a lot of applicants at the job fair in Bacolod who formed long lines .
He also interviewed and hired on the spot applicants for the Government Internship Program, Rodriquez said.
More than 10,000 jobs were available at the Kalayaan Job Fair.
There were 8,852 local jobs offered and 1,534 for Canada, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Malaysia and China.*
