Department of Health (DOH) representatives are set to check on the readiness of dengue fast lanes nationwide amid the rise in cases, DOH Undersecretary Dr. Mary Ann Maestral said Tuesday, March 4.
Maestral said she will be inspecting the fast lanes at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and the City Health Office in Bacolod on Friday.
Maestral said members of the DOH Executive Committee were instructed by Sec. Teodoro Herbosa to visit the dengue fast lanes nationwide on Friday.
There has been an increase of dengue cases nationwide in the first two months of 2025, with 52,008 cases recorded, Maestral said.
It is good that the majority of dengue cases recorded are not the hemorrhagic type, she said.
She said based on the dengue cycle, they have been expecting an increase in dengue cases this year that is why they already purchased dengue commodities for NS1 tests, larvicides, treated screens for schools and dextrose.
The supplies already arrived and are scheduled to be delivered this month, Maestral said.*
