The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has appointed a Negros Island Region OIC regional director.
Lailyn Ortiz, 52, who is an Ilongga, was previously assigned to the DILG in South Cotabato.
Ortiz said she was directed to establish the DILG NIR regional office in Bacolod City.
Appointed NIR OIC Assistant Regional Director is Teodora Sumagaysay, who is also the DILG Negros Occidental provincial director.
Ortiz said she is now preparing the DILG NIR transition plan, as a formal turn-over from Regions 6 and 7 has yet to take place.
