A manhunt operation is ongoing for a detainee who escaped Wednesday morning, November 16, from the detention cell of the Bacong Police Station in Negros Oriental.
The detainee was identified as John Mike Olitres, who was accused of selling illegal drugs.
Bacong town police chief, Lt. Fortunato Villafuerte, said the detention cell was not properly locked, which is why Olitres escaped.
The on-duty personnel at that time were asked to explain the incident.
The provincial police director has ordered all the police stations in the province to help locate the escaped prisoner.*
