Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson on Wednesday, April 22, reassigned Supervising Tourism Operations Officer Cheryl Decena to the Provincial Veterinary Office – Farm Management Division, stationed at the Negros First Ranch in Brgy. Sta. Rosa, Murcia.
Lacson issued the reassignment order following Decena’s return on Wednesday from a six month suspension.
She has been reassigned to support of the province’s agro-tourism development initiatives, the order said.
“This reassignment shall not involve any diminution in rank, status, salary, or tenure,” he said.
She has been tasked to undertake planning, coordination, promotion, administration, and implementation of agro-tourism programs and projects at the Negros First Ranch. She will report to Dr. Placeda E. Lemana – Provincial Veterinarian, for supervision and proper implementation of the order, without prejudice to necessary coordination with Dina A. Genzola – OIC Provincial Agriculturist, Lacson said in his order.
Decena said “wherever they will assign me at , I will be sure to make good use of that time. We all have a finite number of hours in this life . What is critical for me , is that we have a clean conscience and I have done nothing I should be ashamed of”.
She is looking forward to working with everyone, regardless of where she is assigned, Decena said.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said Raymond Alunan will remain as the OIC Tourism Officer of Negros Occidental.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido, Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) vocational school administrator, has resigned to take on a job in Australia.
Cely Carman Trio is the current NOLITC officer-in charge.
There are applicants for assistant department head of NOLITC and we will see whom the governor will appoint to the post, Diaz said.*
