Crimes drop by 42.25% on Nov. 1-2, PNP says

The Police Regional Office-Western Visayas said that the celebration of All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day in the region was peaceful, noting a 42.25 percent decrease in crime incidents from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 compared to the same period last year.

They recorded zero incidents related to the celebration of Undas 2023 inside private and public cemeteries and columbaria, making it generally peaceful, the PRO-6 reported Monday, November 6.

Records showed that there were 108 crime incidents from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 a 42.25 percent decrease from 187 on the same period last year.

On the eight focus crimes, the police recorded 15 incidents, or 62.5 percent lower than last year’s 24 incidents.

PRO-6 Director, Brig.r Gen. Sidney Villaflor, thanked the policemen who were involved in securing the Nov 1 and 2 celebrations and the cooperation of the public to ensure zero incidents in cemeteries.*
