
There are now 165 COVID-19 positive health care workers (HCWs) in five government hospitals in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.
Twenty-seven more HCWs at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday, January 19, bringing the total to 140 from January 1 to 19, Dr. Julius Drilon, CLMMRH chief, said Wednesday.
“Most of the employees are considered to have breakthrough infections, but thanks to vaccines, none developed severe disease,” he said.
Twenty-five HCWs in four Negros Occidental provincial government-run hospitals have also tested positive for COVID-19, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Wednesday.
There are 17 who tested positive at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City – seven doctors, three nurses, one pharmacist, a medical technologist and five support/administration staff, he said.
Four nurses tested positive at the Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City, one doctor at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City and a doctor, dentist and nurse at the Valladolid District Hospital in Valladolid town, Diaz said.*
