167 promoted PRO-NIR personnel take oaths

A total of 167 personnel of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region received new ranks during an oath-taking, donning and pinning ceremony in Bacolod City on Wednesday, July 29.

The ceremony was held at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office covered court in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., Brgy. Estefania.

PRO-NIR Regional Director Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño led the ceremony attended by police officials, personnel, representatives of the National Police Commission-Negros Island Region and the families of the newly promoted officers.

The promoted personnel included 18 police majors, four police captains, 12 police lieutenants, 42 police chief master sergeants, five police senior master sergeants, 20 police master sergeants, 34 police staff sergeants and 32 police corporals.

Cardiño said the promotions recognize the personnel’s competence, commitment and years of service, but also come with greater responsibility.

He reminded the newly promoted officers to lead with integrity, professionalism and compassion while delivering faster and more responsive police services.

“Ang bawat promosyon ay kaakibat ng mas mataas na antas ng pananagutan sa ating komunidad,” Cardiño said.

He added that personnel should remain accessible to the public and serve as examples of honest and humane law enforcement under the regional police office’s SAFE NIR Dial 911 program.

Cardiño also acknowledged the support of the families of the newly promoted personnel and urged the officers to uphold the standards of the Philippine National Police in their new assignments.*
