A couple’s quarrel in Kabankalan City turned violent on Sunday, August 11.

Andy Bobon, 25, a barangay tanod and cane cutter, was injured after he was stabbed by his wife, Angie Bobon, 21, in their house at Purok Narra, Brgy. Tagukon in Kabankalan City, the police reported.

The victim allegedly threatened his wife by saying: “Tiniran taka sa prisohan (I will stay with you in prison)”.

The wife then took a knife from their kitchen and stabbed her husband on his chest, the police reported.

The victim was brought to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital while his wife voluntarily surrendered to the barangay captain and was endorsed to the Kabankalan Police Station.

The suspect was freed by the police as the reglementary period for detention ended.

The police said that the suspect can be charged for frustrated parricide if the victim decides to file a case.

Financial problems and a misunderstanding could have triggered the quarrel of the couple, the police said.*
