Councilor wants Bredco port to halt vehicle entrance fee requirement

Bacolod Councilor Al Victor Espino wants the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation port management to halt collecting fees from vehicles entering the port while its agreement with the city government is being reviewed.

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Laws and Ordinances conducted a hearing on the planned BREDCO port expansion on Tuesday, October 3.

Espino is reviewing BREDCO’s collection of entrance fees from vehicles entering the port.

Joselito Bayatan, BREDCO legal consultant, said the firm has complied with all the requirements under its Comprehensive Revised Reclamation Agreement with the city government, and the tripartite memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Reclamation Authority.

Espino is eyeing the setting up of a CRRA monitoring committee to ensure compliance of the agreement.*
