Police arrested Candoni’s No. 1 most wanted person during a manhunt operation in Brgy. Gatuslao, Candoni, Negros Occidental, on Friday morning, June 26.
The suspect was identified as alias “Norberto,” 57, a laborer and resident of the area.
Personnel of the Candoni Municipal Police Station arrested him at around 8:30 a.m. in Purok East.
Police said the suspect was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder under Criminal Case No. 2026-12095.
The court recommended bail of P200,000.
Authorities informed the suspect of his constitutional rights and the provisions of the Anti-Torture Law in a dialect he understood.
He is currently detained at the Candoni Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.*
