Cops nab five in Negros, seize P4.1M in shabu

The police arrested five suspects and seized about P4.18 million worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in two Negros Occidental cities on Saturday, February 10.

In Bacolod City, the police arrested Ma. Faith Equibal, 56, a high-value drug target, in a buy-bust operation in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, at about 10:16 p.m. on Saturday.

Seized from her was suspected shabu weighing 312 grams with an estimated street price of P2,121,600, the police said.

The operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bacolod police.

Meanwhile, four individuals, including a high-value target and a person who is top 9 on the drug watchlist, were arrested and recovered was P2 million worth of suspected shabu in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City, the police reported.

Arrested were Carlos Opciar, 29, a high-value target, Julius Escanillan, 29, top 9 in the drug watchlist, Alexis Jeffer Damandaman, 27, and Reynaldo Dela Peña, 27, in a buy-bust operation at about 12:32 p.m. on Saturday.

Recovered were 300.01 grams of shabu with estimated street price of P2,060,468, the police said.*
