A fisherman was arrested after the police found guns and a grenade in his possession while serving a search warrant in Purok Mahigugma-on, Brgy. Maricalum, Sipalay City, on Friday, February 23.
The 49-year-old fisherman of Purok Paguipaguihan in Barangay Maricalum was arrested by Provincial Intelligence Unit operatives of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
The search warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 77 executive judge in Sipalay City.
Recovered from the suspect was a hand grenade, .38 caliber and .45 caliber pistols, a homemade shotgun and ammunition, the police reported.
The suspect is now under the custody of Sipalay City police.*
