Cops file raps vs. ‘bodyguard’ for slay of Bacolod bizman

The Bacolod police filed   homicide raps against a “bodyguard”, who allegedly killed his businessman employer, before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday,  July 23. 

The charges were filed against Ronel Panggo Rafael, 34, of General Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental, PCapt. Francis Depasucat, Bacolod Police Station 4 chief, said. 

Rafael was accused of allegedly killing Jun Yanson Alaba of Brgy Estefania, Bacolod City, who was engaged in the money lending business, Depasucat said.

Alaba was driving his Isuzu MUX from Homesite, Brgy Villamonte, Bacolod City, when a heated argument ensued between him and Rafael, a police report said.

Rafael suddenly took a firearm and shot Alaba as the vehicle reached Paglaum Street, Brgy Villamonte, at 5:20 p.m. Monday, July 22, the report added. 

Alaba was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, while Rafael was arrested and detained at Police Station 4. 

Rafael accompanied Alaba when he withdrew money for his lending business, Tingson said.*
