Cops arrest American on bus, husband threatening wife

Two persons, including an American citizen, were arrested by the police for alleged alarm and scandal in Bacolod City and Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, May 29. 

The 67-year-old American citizen, currently residing in Brgy. Canroma, Pontevedra, was arrested for alleged alarm and scandal, and malicious mischief on a Ceres Bus along the national highway in Brgy. San Juan in the town, the police reported. 

His name was withheld by the police. 

The bus driver said the suspect asked to get off the bus and when he slowly stopped the vehicle on the side of the road, the suspect hit the right glass door with his cane, a police report said. 

He allegedly scolded the driver which resulted in fear, discomfort, panic, and disturbance to the driver and passengers, the report added. 

The suspect also became unruly during his  arrest and forcibly resisted creating injuries to his body, the police said.

 He was brought to the  Pontevedra Rural Health Unit for medical treatment, and is now detained at the Pontevedra Police Station.

In Bacolod City, Erwin Lo was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill his wife with an improvised shotgun inside their residence in Purok Lubi, Brgy. 3, Wednesday night. 

The suspect’s son reported to the police that his father was allegedly exhibiting disruptive and uncontrollable behavior while threatening to kill his wife, a police report said. 

The police responded and saw the suspect holding his improvised shotgun, which they seized. 

The suspect is now under police custody.*
