The Commission on Elections is inviting the public to join the 2024 Voter Education and Registration Fair at the Event Center of SM City Bacolod from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, February 23.
The election officers of all the towns and cities of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will be at the fair to facilitate the registration of voters, Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said on Thursday.
Those who wish to register to vote elsewhere, including in places outside of Negros Occidental, can also do so through the Register Anywhere Project (RAP) of the Comelec at SM City, he said.
Ananoria said the Comelec is also set to conduct satellite registration in far flung barangays of Negros Occidental to bring their services closer to members of the vulnerable sector.
Meanwhile, the Comelec is serious about filing charges against persons with double registrations, Ananoria said.
The Comelec expects to file raps against 100,000 double registrants nationwide but he does not know yet how many will come from Negros Occidental, he added.*
