Love Negros is ready to support Board Member Manuel Frederick Ko’s bid to run for a congressional seat under the Abang Lingkod Partylist in 2025, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Thursday, February 22.

Rep. Stephen Paduano is on his last term as Abang Lingkod representative.

Ko said he plans to run as first nominee of Abang Lingkod in 2025.

However, they are not likely to support former Hinoba-an mayor Ernesto Estrao’s bid for congressman of the Sixth District of Negros Occidental in 2025, Lacson said.

Rep. Mercedes Alvarez is the incumbent representative of the Sixth District.

“Definitely, we’ve always been supporting Alvarez for the 6th District. So I don’t see any changes as far as that is concerned. Personally, I have not been given that information that former mayor Estrao has announced that he is running”, Lacson said.

Estrao on Wednesday said he may run for congressman of the Sixth District.

But “it is not final, next week we have a PDP Laban (Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan) meeting, I will wait for my appointment as (Sixth) District chairman,” Estrao said.*
