Comelec Negros purges 178,328 from voters’ list

The Commission on Elections in Negros Occidental has purged 178,328 persons from its list of voters.

COMELEC-Negros Occidental data on Thursday, May 23, showed that 17O,000 were delisted for failure to vote in two successive elections. 

The others who were delisted   had died, were double entries, transferred to other areas or had applied for overseas absentee voting. 

The most number of delisted voters in the province were in Bacolod City at 26,389. 

Nationwide   4.2 million voters had been delisted by the COMELEC for various reasons. 

Meanwhile, the COMELEC En Banc has released four resolutions for the proclamation of four duly elected   barangay and SK officials in Negros Occidental. 

The four resolutions were issued to correct manifest errors in the statement of votes. 

The Comelec annulled the proclamation of Crisalito Erisari as the 7th member of the Sannguninag Barangay of Barangay VI, Silay City, and ordered the proclamation of Keelen Magallanes Escarilla as the rightful winner. 

It also annulled the proclamation of Renan Pabalinas as 7th Kagawad of Aguisan, Himamaylan City, and ordered the proclamation of Arlene Gargarita as the winner.

In Murcia the proclamation of Anthony Ceballos as 7th Kagawad of Barangay Pandanon was annulled and the proclamation of Christine Ortiz as the winner was ordered. 

The proclamation  of  Reymark Deguitos  as 7th member of the   SK  of  Barangay Orong,  Kabankalan City, was also annulled and the proclamation  of Jemuel Tamay as  the rightful winner was ordered.*
