The Commission on Elections is ready for the filing of the certificates of candidacy for the 2025 polls that will start on Tuesday, Oct. 1, and run until Oct. 8, Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said on Monday.
They are all set to accept the COCs of the provincial and congressional candidates at the Social Hall of the Capitol in Bacolod City, Ananoria said.
Candidates for city and municipal posts will file their COCs at the Comelec offices in their areas.
Ananoria said candidates should submit completely filled up COCs, which should be signed and notarized, with documentary stamp and passport size picture, together with their Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance if they have a political party.
The Comelec will require the submission of five copies, he added.
Government employees and appointees will be deemed resigned upon filing of their COCs, Ananoria said.
Elective officials running for public office do not have to resign, he added.
The Comelec registration of voters ended on Monday, Sept. 30.*
