The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Southern Visayas launched “Oplan Byaheng Ayos: Pasko 2024” by deploying additional personnel at all key ports starting Friday, Dec. 20, with an expected high influx of passengers during the holidays.
The PCG, in a press release, said with the anticipated influx of passengers and volume of maritime traffic, the program aims to enhance safety and security operations, safeguard ports, and provide seamless travel experiences for the riding public.
Passenger assistance desks through the “DOTr Malasakit Help Desk” will be operating at the PCG District Station, and Sub-station ports and harbors across the Negros Island Region from Friday to January 3.
This aims to provide a hassle-free travel experience for passengers as they head to their holiday destinations and to address concerns, provide information, and respond to emergencies, the press release said.*
