Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) was the lone Level 3 Department of Health (DOH)-retained hospital in Western Visayas to be honored with the 2023 DOH Hospital Star Award.
The recognition ceremony, themed “Breaking the Barriers of Mediocrity – In Pursuit of Healthcare Innovation towards a Healthy Pilipinas,” took place at the Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City on Monday, November 13.
The CLMMRH award was received by Dr. Julius M. Drilon – medical center chief, division heads – Dr. Rachel Zita Ramos, Ana Rose Mahilum, Shareen Caelian and Dr. Marybeth Marcial, Quality Management representative Dr. Lynn Rodrigo, and IHOMS head John Diesto.
The DOH Hospital Star Awards, facilitated by the Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFRSB), established five criterion for quality performance: Safety and Infection Control, Service Provision, Customer and Employee Satisfaction, Community-based activities, and Quality Improvements, a CLMMRH press release said.
This marks CLMMRH’s third win, following the 2019 and 2022 recognitions.
Out of the 16 Level 3 hospital awardees, CLMMRH stands as the lone DOH-retained hospital in the region and the sole Level 3 hospital in Negros Occidental that met the stringent HFRSB requirements for exceptional quality performance.
This accomplishment was achieved through the meticulous compilation and submission of CLMMRH’s achievements and activities by the 2023 DOH Star Awards Development Committee, led by its chairperson John Michael Gabriel Zaragoza, the press release said.
“The DOH Hospital Star Awards is a testament to the hospital’s tireless efforts in going beyond the ordinary, striving for innovation in healthcare delivery to uphold the highest standards of patient care”, Drilon said.
CLMMRH’s consistent recognition affirms its unwavering dedication and commitment as the apex hospital in the region, he added.*
