The chief of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) is upbeat about the creation of the Negros Island Region.
“It will be to our advantage as it will be an opportunity to seek a higher budget for the hospital”, Dr. Julius Drilon, CLMMRH chief, said.
CLMMRH will be the only Department of Health tertiary level hospital and multi-specialty center in the NIR, he said.
The NIR is composed of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
Drilon said with a higher budget they would be able to complete the purchase of equipment needed by the hospital and address the needs of other services.
Dr. Adriano P. Suba-an, DOH Western Visayas regional director, said they are turning the CLMMRH that used to be under the DOH Western Visayas to the NIR.*
